Tried posting this over in the auto body forum but got no replies. I put the pieces on tonight but I wanted to make sure it wouldn't leak. Anyone ever done this? It mounts to the roof with two studs that have a washer like the seals that are under the cab lights. You tighten it down through the inside of the cab with a serrated flange nut. the washer is a foamy ring thing.
I was looking to see if someone could tell me the proper procedure for installation? Do these just bolt on or do you need to run a dab of sealer around the edge. Mine are all cracked from the sun and need to be replaced.

Just need to know if anyones done this and if they used sealer. I dont think you need to but want to confirm.
I have an old take off from a truck and it has no evidence of additional sealer. Either did my clearance cab lights, and they leaked. With that said, I would use some sealant. Even if it's just a little clear silicone around the studs, it's a piece of mind.
I looked in the 2003 body repair section of the workshop manual and could not find
anything about installing them. Lots of metal part stuff and a little plastic repairs.
But nothing on installing them.
Bummer, I'll pull them off and put a dab down for the sake of it. If I can I'll post some pictures so if anyone else has to replace they will know what it looks like
