A Few Subtle Changes

After having my truck for awhile, I decided that I wanted it to ride a little higher and have some heavier duty tires. They are bad about cleaning the road sides here. Bolts, screws, nails and scrap metal are common on shoulders and turn lanes. I went with a Ready Lift 2.25" levelling kit and 295/70/18 Toyo Open Country AT Extreme tires.

As some of you may have noticed, I replaced the XLT Sport grill with a Lariat Sport grill. I just prefer the way it looks.

Next, I. Replaced the chrome F150 emblems with black and red Special Edition emblems. I like the contrast against the Tuxedo Black. Besides, my factory installed fender emblems were pulling away from the body panel.

Finally, I changed the factory flares from Tuxedo Black to Magenetic Grey. This is because I tore the right rear one up in a parking garage. I figured I would try Magnetic because the wheels and step boards are that color. I'm pleased with the results.

Well, that's where I am with this truck so far. I still have a tailgate damper to install, but that's a 2 man job.

Subtle, but it makes a huge difference. That looks very nice.

I'm a sucker for the black/red F-150 badges, I love those things. Nice truck!

I love the red accent. That would look great on a lot of colors, but it's perfect against the black.

Love the tires too; those are at the top of my list when I burn through the OEM shoes. How's the road noise?

There is a hum, louder than expected for an all terrain. The Extreme versions have more void space then the regular ATs.
