Another buzz test thread, but unexpected trouble code

Hey friends! It's good to be back here... this was always one of my favorite forums. I just picked up a 01' 7.3 with 268k. It was very cheap, I couldn't pass it up. I'm just dicking around with the truck and figured I'd pick your brain a bit.

It's pretty beat, and it does need some maintenance. Upon cold start the power is very low. So low that sometimes I can't make it out of my driveway if the front tire gets stuck near the curb. A couple points. Nearly no blowby from the oil cap test. No smoke at all from exhaust upon start up. Compression is assumed to be good. I unplugged EBPV harness to be sure and verified that it is indeed in the open position. That leads me to injectors. I did a cold engine buzz test and it's clear 1, 5, and 8 are weak:

My question to the forum is, the scanner gave code P1276. Indicating an issue with #6. This injector has a strong buzz both hot and cold, so I am puzzled by that? A few nights ago, the cylinder contribution test indicated 1 and 8 had a balance fault. This confirms the buzz test findings of weak 1 and 8. Today I took it for a long drive and now I get a balance fault on 8 and 5. So, I think it's pretty safe to say I need 3 injectors. The question is, do I need a 4th for #6 with that code?

Perdel Readings indicate that I do indeed need atleast 1, 5 and 8.

1) 1.8
2) 0.0
3) 0.1
4) 0.5
5) 2.3
6) 0.0
7) 0.0
8) 5.2

And just for fun, here's the hot engine buzz test:

You can clearly hear #5 wakes up and sounds normal when hot even though hot perdel readings are a little high. I'm assuming this is why the power so vastly improves. 1 and 8 are clearly still weak.

That sounds like a total UVCH test before anything else. There is a useful UVCH link in my signature.

Brain not working, but how'd you go about getting the perdel numbers?

Thanks Tugly, I'll test the harness before buying anything for sure.

Immyboy76, the perdel numbers were part of the data readout on the scan tool. I borrowed this one from my buddy... wish I had $13,000 to buy one myself.

How about 50 bucks... can you swing that? OBDII link in my signature, and look into the OBDLink LX for anything except iOS portable devices. OBDLink MX WiFi takes care of the fruity devices.

So, the CCT shoes the perdels? T.P. I don't think has that feature, yet, but DashCommand/CarGaugePro does but never shows any numbers...

No, my friend. It's not part of the CCT. There are PIDs called "Cylinder Rotational Velocity" for each cylinder. The e99's don't have a #1, because they use one as the reference. The rotational velocity is read out as PERcent DELta - PERDELs), the difference in velocity of the cam per cylinder.

I haven't looked for those in Torque Pro yet - maybe one of these days/months/years.
