Hello all. Yall have been very helpful with replying to my recent posts. My truck has been doing great lately after the major surgery she's been through. She is an '06 F-250, with about 238k miles. I've noticed a few days ago that there is a grinding noise and feeling in the gas pedal. (Or diesel pedal..? ) I can feel it right when I slightly ease into the throttle. It goes away once I'm up and going. But its the kind of grinding that sort of worries me. It is also apparent when in reverse, almost more noticeable.
I don't know if it has always been there and that it is normal, or that I am just over-analyzing everything, being that she just came out of a major surgery.
Any help would be greatly appreciated guys. I know there are more knowledgeable people out there than me, and I know some are on these forums.
I apologize for the late reply, I usually am very quick to respond. The major surgery that underwent included replacing the oil cooling system with Bullet Proof Diesel's air-to-oil cooler. Also replaced all O-rings in all 8 injectors, replaced the STC fitting with the updated version. Also replaced the stock dummy plugs and stand pipes with the newer updated version as well. Replaced the gaskets and O-rings around the HPOP system. Replaced the O-rings in the oil rails, also installed the two gaskets underneath the intake manifold (was included in the BPD oil cooler kit).
Though it seems like a lot, we mainly just updated all old components of the engine that were known to cause problems. We initially were just going to install the oil cooler, but a HPOP leak came up as the truck was not starting when hot. So we decide to do it all at once while we had the engine tore open.
I'm thinking the grinding noise is the turbo down pipe rattling up against the firewall. I noticed that when I kill the engine, the exhaust pipe hits up against the frame it's installed onto. I'm thinking I can just loosen up the clamp holding the pipe to the back of the turbo, move the exhaust pipe over just enough to where it doesn't hit the frame, and tighten the clamp back up. IF, I second, IF that is what is causing the grinding noise.
A little more info that I may or may not have included in the initial post. As of now, the truck has 240k miles, its a 2006 model, and the BPD oil cooler was installed around 3k miles ago.
