I wasn't sure at first but now I like it. I just don't see why it keeps the truck running when you put it in park a lot of the time. For instance we stopped at the grocery store and i backed into a parking space and she ran into the store to pick something up real quick. Why does it sit there running then but not at stop lights? It needs a little more fine tuning but still a nice feature.
Play in the settings in your gauge cluster. I believe there is an option in there I seen about auto start/stop not sure if it will turn it off permanently or not.

I think the way it works is you have to let it kick in and auto stop while still in drive. Then if you put it in park the engine will do the normal start/stop thing as normal (that is, will start up for a while if you have the AC running, then shut off again). At least that's how I've seen it work on mine. If I stop and immediately put the trans into park before the engine auto stops, the engine keeps running in park until I turn the key off.
I had a 2015 with the 2.7L for about 10 months. Got all crazy and upgraded last week.
There is no option to turn it off permanently.
I didn't like it initially, but eventually allowed the system to do its thing. It is pretty quick to fire back up with just the slightest lessening of brake pedal pressure.
I have read that some people keep their truck in "tow" mode and that this disables the function. Perhaps that would work for you?
It would make sense not to shut off in park as compared to drive though. Up here in the northern climates if i'm in park and its well below freezing i don't want my truck to shutoff as it tends to cool off fairly rapidly.
There is an easy to hit "off" button, so why would you put it in tow mode to accomplish the same thing only less effectively. The option in the menu only lets you know that it's operating correctly, no perm off feature.
I don't care for it myself, but that's more because I like to accelerate quickly and move from brake to gas in a hurry. I don't think a normal driver would be affected at all.

Was just repeating what I'd read previously - I presumed that if the vehicle was turned off in "tow" mode, it would remain that way.
can someone explain to me what the "Auto startstop" feature is? What are we talking about, remote start????????
When you stop in gear such as in drive thru's or at stop lights the engine shuts off automatically and restarts automatically as soon as you let off the brake.
Our 2016 f150 lariat sport has in advanced settings in the gauge cluster where you can disable the auto start/stop feature. Have a look in there if you guys have it.
