water pump

This will make the 4th water pump I have replaced this year. Leaking from weep hole. 3 auto zone and this one napa. I have not even put the fan on yet. Good coolant, good coolant filter, not very old tensioner . only thing I can see is the pumps are all made in china. Any Ideas what is going on besides just bad pumps? 94.5 f350

Have you replaced your fan clutch? Mine went bad because of a worn fan clutch once. I was told to replace them at the same time...

No, I have not changed the fan clutch. On this last pump I have not run with the fan on so that would not be it. Thanks.

I was going to say get a filter but you have one. Its expensive but it will be the last one you'll have to buy:

I replaced my water pump a couple of years ago. The instructions with the new pump said to replace the fan clutch too. I thought it was strange to throw that bit of advice in, so I ignored it. Now I understand why they recommended it.

I personally don't think the fan clutch has any thing to do with it! Someone would have to explain to me why! I think its cheap *** china shi! for pumps being used and not a good one like in my link above.

I second this sentiment.

oldbird. What is the difference? Is it made in us? AutoZone and Napa are the same price new and made in China. Both have life time warranty but who wants to change a water pump every 3 mo. Since the fan and clutch were eliminated I can not see that being the problem . Only other thing I could think of is the tensioner but I replaced that a while back with an oem . Plus I do not think it could put that much tension on the pump. I am also thinking china junk.

I learned many years ago when replacing items such as water pump go OEM and new only. Lessons learned over the years, never go remanufactured.

Called ford they want $352.00. They think it is new and they do not know where it is made at.

Called Dieselsite on the one olddbird posted. The pump is cast in China but the internals are US.

I had the autozone one leak also. The replacement one is still leak free. (Knock on wood)
Pretty sure even the Motorcraft one is outsourced now.

I would trust the diesel site one. (Well not necessarily trust it, but trust customer service)
