I'm sorry, but regardless of price I just don't like the Platinum. If I were going to get one, it would need chrome bumpers (as in my opinion, all trucks should have, especially the top end models), and I like the lettering on the side---it's just one more way to make it stand out from the rest, and a little more chrome. However, I'm apparently in the minority.
Yeah, I was already hoping I could move the outlet to the bed assuming there is enough cable lengths and room to route it. I installed a connector in my current 2011 for a camera system so it can be done.
As for cable length, according to the rep I spoke with this morning the "Trailer Camera Prep Kit" comes with 3 cable lengths one of them being 50 feet. I hope it long enough. My RV is 40 feet but I want to mount the camera at top of the rear and it is another 10 feet from the bottom of the RV to the top as I would run the camera along the bottom of RV frame. Worst case - I can splice in some extra length.
My toy hauler is 36'
Camera mounted above the ramp. Cable was 60' and just long enough to make it to the pin box.
For proper routing I would estimate 25 feet longer then the trailer.
I have always allied myself with Teddy Roosevelt "Speak softly and carry a big stick." A nicely appointed truck does not need billboards to gloat of its prowess. The lines and performance should speak for themselves.
