Ignition Switch Positions

Hello All,
Quick question here what are the positions of the ignition switch?

I had an upper actuator rod failure on a 89 F150 Manual Transmission truck. I was able to get the new rod in and now the ignition switch operational, but I think it is missing a position.

Insert the key turn it forward to start the truck (it starts), Position 1. Release key starter disengages engine continues to run, Position 2. In order to shut the tuck off I have to hit the button on the bottom of the steering column and turn the ignition cylinder back to the lock position, Position 3. From there I can turn it backwards to the Accessory position.

Should I be able to cut the truck off without pushing the button on the steering column?

Thanks for the quick reply.

I guess the round gear the spade end of the ignition switch slides into has gotten off time from the flat gear that it pushes against pin on the upper actuator.

Does anyone have know of any timing marks to look for?

i align the end gears before putting them back together. this usually get the timing rite.
sometimes i have to play with it though. some trucks just refuse to play nice.
