What can I use

So my 1994 F150 (5.0l and 4R70W) felt the wrath of my automotive knowledge (it won). I need to replace the engine/transmission and I wanted to know what years and models I could use as donors for this truck. I see a lot of Crown Vic's and Mustangs within the same vintage with the same engine size. What is the year break for what I could use as a donor as well as Ford models.

Thank you,

Conanski in the SBF forum could tell you exactly what to look for. But the very basic thing here is that any 302 within a few years + or - will work. BUT you must use the intake, computer, sensors etc etc from your truck on that engine.

There are some models, like Explorer or Mustang, with better heads or cams or both.

Transmission, just swap yours for an identical reman.
