just blew the motor in my 95 ford F 150, 302 auto. What year engines arw a direct bolt in, plug in ? I'm an old time rodder, can usually adapt anything but this computer operated stuff blo2ws me away
the easiest is the same year and model. but even they can very. example is a California truck will be different than a Colorado truck but these are miner deference's and can be remedied by swapping the sensors to the ones that match the computer in the truck.
Any year 302 longblock will bolt right in there, but.. the early(60's) heads are not setup for unleaded gas or emissions which certainly makes these motors less of a direct swap. A 302 from any car or truck from '87 up is the best bet, with the HO from the mustang and the 94+ truck motors offering the most performance.
P.S. Use the EFI intake and electrical that's already in the truck.
93 newer 302 has 351 firing order and roller heads so any Truck engine from that to 93 -96 should have same cam . Other than sensor changes on intakes (MAF related) And will work with your ECM with no problem or wiring changes.
Also some explores have 302 with GT 40 heads . You will get into some wiring changes because of the heads haveing a different intake and exhaust . And wiring diferences.
Get a good manual if don't have one . when removing wires I use piece of masking tape and write on it in pen where they go. The harness is laid out so once it is routed close to where it goes most all sensors ETC and plug placement is easy to figure out. Good luck
