Couldn't find any thing to help me on here. So just ask I say.
There are a lot of kits and all kind of prices to pick from and the kits are like universal at work all the way to 79. We are keeping the vent window so that want be a problem.
So what have you guys used and what if any dislike to what you bought?
You should also add the year and model of your truck to your Signature so we don't have to ask.
I know how things are supposed to work and in my signature I have the 56 listed but it is not showing up like what you guys show?
I was using the advance search and yep I would find a bunch of post but not starting with the words power windows and some of the post were many pages deep that I would have had to look trough. So I did a Google search and put in power windows 56 f100 and got a lot of hits and info.
I have to even do that on a powder coating forum I am on. I can find post quicker on the net that was posted there than I can using the forums search. I find that it is a lot quicker that way.
Thanks for trying to help with the info you provided
I used these on my panel, easy install and no problems, comes with everything you need. I have solid side windows so you should have no problems. EZ Wiring E-Store - Power Window Kit

I had looked at the Mid Fifty one and they seem to like it a lot and does not seem to come with any switches and now they have a install kit that you buy that according to them as I was told you have to buy for them to back it up.
I found what seems like the same exact one on Speedway for 170 and comes with all the wiring and switches. I did contact Mid Fifty and ask for all the install info for the extra kit and they sent me like 4 pages and give all the info step by step. On their site you can only access the 1st page of 3 so you do not have much info there. Maybe it would all come to you when you do order the add on kit. We will order it Tuesday when they open back up.

I just ordered this kit. Do you have any tips for installing? I am keeping the vent windows but I don't think that should make a big difference.
Do I need anything for mounting that's not in the kit?
several years ago I bought a lectra-glide set and set them on the shelf... this year I tried to install... no instructions on the kit and can't find the vendor... Ball's was no help with their one page instructions... after pranking with them for about a week and never getting them to line up correctly I snatched them out and went on a search again...
here's what I found and plan on buying with the money arrives...
this is for one piece glass but they have the vent window model also... they use the original regulator mounting holes... little 'pensive... but I want it to work right

I guess I was a bit misleading when I said it came with everything, the extra kit the midfifty sells I believe would be what I had to provide on my own but wasn't a big deal because I had scrap material to use. You need to be able to mount the window motor on a cross bar, if you use the instructions Midfifty supplies on their site the install goes very well..
It looks like a couple of plates, bars and hardware. I'm sure I have the material to make the parts. Did you have dimensions to make the parts or did you just figure it out as you installed them?
The instructions on the Mid Fifty site is only 1 page and does not reference the plates so I'm not sure where they go.
Maybe it will make sense once I get the power window parts.
46Duke,
The guys at So-Cal Arizona in Phoenix, recommend the Nu-Relics brand of power windows kits. They used to sell a different brand but went to Nu-Relics when the other brand turned out to be lower quality.
These bolt into the door using the stock bolt holes and have a high quality motor that is easy to find if and when you need to replace it. You can get it to keep the vent window or to remove the vent window. There is also a choice of switches.
These are ones I plan to buy for my 48 F1 when I get to the doors.
I don't know about a 56 but I would sure check out nu-relics. I went through several brands on my 52 with limited luck and the ordered a Nu_relics which sure worked fine. It is a bolt-in deal with the original mounted holes and they are for single or two window models.

John, let me get this right in my mind. You used the EZ motor kit then made a horizontal bar and brace, similar to the one sold by Mid fifty. The horizontal bar is bolted to the vertical window tracks, near the bottom of the door and the brace keeps the motor from torqueing the window as it moves up and down?
I ask, because I would never spend $400 for a window kit. But, I might be talked into spending $250, (total). And since I already have an EZ wiring kit, I know anything they make will wire in without issue.
