2016 Radio problem
I have some other issues I'd like to get feedback on. The Home Link in the truck has always been weak. My wife's car can be 100ft or more from the garage and the door will open. When I first got the truck I had to be about 25 ft away before the door would open. It's gotten worse. I need to be within 5 ft of the door before the Home Link will operate it. The dealer said all they could do was verify the system was working. They can't measure how strong the signal is. They can only replace it if it fails to work at all.
If the truck has not run for several days I get a lot of lifter noise after startup until the oil pressure comes up. It's not just one or a couple, it sounds like every one is oil starved for a few seconds. I made a point of telling the Service writer it doesn't occur overnight. They had it for 3 days and the Tech couldn't duplicate the problem. When they called Friday to say it was ready I learned that he started it both mornings it was in the shop. They wanted to keep it over the weekend and try again Monday but I decided not to leave it. I'll wait to see how many days it has set idle the next time it happens then let them have it again.
If I'm in control of the throttle I can maintain 65 mph while climbing a grade and the transmission will only lower from 6th to 5th if it downshifts at all. On that same grade with the cruise control set for 65 mph the transmission will downshift from 6th to 3rd, bypassing 5th and 4th. The service Tech told me his truck has the same issue but as of this time Ford has no fix for it.
All that was accomplished in 3 days was a free tire rotation.
