fuel pump woes
I was wondering can you rebuild the original fuel pump? one I bought from the store already crapped out! No fuel to the carb at all! Would like to find another one with the glass bowl and filter if possible.

Absolutely, if you can find the parts. Sort of looked into this, but I wondered if the rubber parts would be fossilized by now and then there's an issue with modern fuels and ethanol so I never bothered. The integral filter canister type used for the FE fits and works well so went with that.

Mac's has them, part # 48-36081-1 (rebuild kit) and diaphragms 48-16873-1 and 48-35461-1 depending on the pump you have. Check carefully that they fit your application. These are for Carter pumps marked 3528 and a few others. Under 10 bucks.
Or do you mean the FE pump? 48-36024-1 70-72 F100-F350 with 360 or 390 , about 50 bucks.
Make sure the screws on your original pump body are screwed down tight, they will loosen up over time and it will start sucking air.
