Throttle cable to long?

I was looking at my gas peddle and it was pushed down a little far so i filmed me connecting and disconnecting the throtle cable from my new edelbrock carb with the adapter and got this video. What do I need to do?

Some reason video didnt upload. Sorry about that. When the pedal is down is when its hooked to the carb. When i hook it up i have to oush it in about 1/2".

Heres some pics hooked up and unhooked. You can see how small the distance is but it moves the pedal a good bit. Sorry they are dark.

So long as it drops back to idle and you get full throttle when to the floor there is not much to worry about.
