It ran great there and back. Towed like a champ through pouring rain there and ran great on the way home, one problem though,I can't live with 13 miles to the gallon. It maybe the rear calipers I haven't checked them and noticed some heat coming off the drivers rear. I also noticed heavy brake dust on that wheel too. I does need the FICM sent out,I know a tune up from Ed and a Atlas 40 tune will fix some of it. I'm willing to bet there is something I'm missing. The trailer was @ about 6,300 if I calculated it right. That's nothing for these trucks. I also forgot to take the SCT street tune off,so I ran with that on. Temps got up to 215 coolant on some grades with oil never more than 10 degrees higher. I was real happy about that, only thing I didn't like was the IPR readings once in awhile. They got a little high, just hope the HPOP isn't going out. It could be the tune but I don't think so. I'll put this snap shot up from the Livewire
I was towing 60-65 mph (Had boy scouts in the truck, convoy behind me) I should have run it sans tune but was in a rush and forgot to change it back to stock. I hate these Goodyear mud tires on here too, sure that doesn't help mileage either, plus they sing like crazy. A/T's are going on it when I get some spare coin.
Did you account for all the body weight and gear in the truck? Towing that weight at that speed is not horrible really, and the fact you were running a tune. It's not much to tow for these trucks no, but anytime you add anything and are above the magic 55-60 the mpg just seem to drop off.
I'd love to put the same stereo I have F 250 in the Ex with subs in the backdoors and a reverse camera for backing into the trailer hitch. I was impressed with the Skyjacker shocks that were on the truck when I bought it. It drives real nice,no pulling or swaying. All it needs now are stupid little things fixed and it will be a perfect truck. Then I'll go crazy with the mods
