Rubbing Drums
I just got through replacing rear bearings and seals on my '66 F100. I also rebuilt the brakes and replaced the drums. The drums rub on the backing plate.
I've relieved some of the high spots on the backing plate but also have some rubbing in the groove in the backing plate. It is not all the way around. The first drums I got were Break Best Select. I just got some Centric and they also rub but not as bad.
Anyone else ever have this kind of problem?

Probably imported, a lot of that stuff is a little vague when it comes to dimensions. The wheel cylinders often don't fit without a little time at the grinder. Cast US drums aren't that much more expensive?

The ****-eyed drum I got was for a 1996Ranger from NAPA. I always ask them for the "good stuff". Any idea where I can get US stuff?

Update. I took off the Centric drums and looked for any rubbing areas and really didn't see any. Put them and the wheels back on and did a spin test and then a drive test and no rubbing. The Centric do look like a higher quality drum as opposed to the others.
