[QUOTE=2009kr;16940283]Both the black and brunello seats in the Platinum have a silver stripe in the center. I really disliked the KR seats when I first saw them, but realized it was because of the poor CRI lights at the dealer when looking at the truck in the night time.
Look again....that stripe is not "silver".....it's more of a medium/dark gray.... The contrast makes it "look" Silver...but it's not.
Jason....the seats in the Platinum are not two-tone. There are no two-tone seats currently available in any of the trim levels I believe. This would be a two tone seat. I don't think the stripe counts as "two-tone"...lol
Yes, you are right. I was just talking about the brunello seats that are specific to the Platinum. They have a contrast stripe in the middle.
I remember looking at the differences earlier and you could pretty much option a KR to have everything a Plat had except for things like heated wheel and certain cosmetic things.
Now, I think you can get heated wheel in most all trim levels.
Ford will probably keep some things Platinum only, just for marketing purposes.

I have a KR with a heated wheel. The only thing I think a platinum can have that a KR can't is lighted sil plates.
It's wrote in stone (by Ford) that the Platinum is their top trim level, but I'm more concerned now about the seats and comfort levels.
During my 45 min test drive, I had no Platinum seat issues, but that's not to say I won't on several hour drives. I also looked at a KR SRW on the dealers lot, never gave it a thought that the seat comforts were different, or I would have drove that also and maybe for more of an extended period.
It will be real pricey if I have to take my msrp $81K Platinum and then swap out the seats! yikes!

When I was waiting for my truck to come in I needed a vehicle for a weekend and my dealer gave me a 2013 Ford Edge platinum it was the 1st time I seen the lighted sill plates I laughed at them as they were all scratched up (car was in mint condition) and looked cheesy imo. Now that my truck is in I still think the same I didn't want a platinum I would have gone with a lariat ultimate but I don't like chrome bumpers. By the time you add all the options I did want the price was very close to the king ranch (that way I would have painted bumpers)
But don't like the 2 tone and to paint out the 2 tone was way more then stepping up to the platinum. So now I'm trying to decide how much of the chrome I want to remove the tailgate is my first thing on my list.
I really wish ford would offer the same options as the f 150 I would have gone with a lariat sport in a heartbeat
As for the seats like everyone is saying some just can't get comfortable and others are ok with them i myself am very comfy in them
I optioned out a Lariat Ultamite and it was more then the Platinum without ultimate
I didn't want the moonroof or lane assist, so Platinum it was!
To the OP.
Sit in both those seats. I can't go for more then an hour in my massage Platinum seats. My back is stinging and I have pain shooting down my legs.
Never had this in any other truck.
It's 100% the seat. Perhaps the King Ranch with out the massaging is better.
Something to think about.
Klassic,
Exact same problem here. EXCEPT mine is a King Ranch. I thought I had found the fix, but didn't. I'm getting rid of the truck this weekend with 1100 miles. Absolutely love the truck, but I can't sit in the seat for more than 30 mins without pain starting to roll in.

So far I can put up with it. I'm 6'4" 215lbs.
After 45mins I'm wiggling around...1 hour I'm adjusting the seat every 2 minutes.
I find if I lay it back fairly far and stretch my left leg straight I can get another 20 mins.
After 2 hours I have to get out. The ***/leg pain is too much.
5 mins walking around and I'm good for another 30.
I have 3000miles.. getting rid of it has crossed my mind. I can't take the hit right now and I love it.
I'm hoping it breaks into my shape soon

Ultimate with the active motion seats or standard?
Also, I suggest everyone keeps in mind how much the seat feel changes in the first few months as they break in.
Subjective for sure, but it looks like no matter what the trim level seat, we have some serious complaints. I see absolutely no winner or a possible seat to update/upgrade to either.
I do think you or your body adjusts somewhat thru time. When going to different brands through the years, it's always taken me some time to "conform" to the other Mfgrs seats.
Stupid Question..... Does the Platinum come standard with Lane keeping alert ? On the ford website it seems to be a standard feature in the platinum but I just got my window sticker and I don't see it on there. Anybody know? Not a big deal just curious.
