Why can't I reset my fuel filter life? (UDATE from dealer)

Changed fuel filters today for the first time. 8800 miles. All went well, but when I use info screen to get to "fuel filter" to reset like I saw on youtube, it's not there. Only coolant. Should I care? Is it supposed to be there? Does the truck have to tell me it's time to change them before it shows up? Thanks.

I. Think the fuel filter reset is somewhere else? Do you have the lcd screen between the speedo and tach? Maybe it's only available if you have the fancy screen?

Yes, I do have the LCD screen. I scrolled through like they did on the video, "settings... vehicle" etc but when I come to the screen that supposed to have coolant, and fuel filter, there is only coolant.

As I recall, it is the same screen as the oil change. I haven't looked in a while though. I don't remember it being on the same screen as the coolant additive.

Thanks. Don't see it there either. I will confess, I haven't looked in the owners manual yet. Going in to the dealer Monday for oil change, I'll ask them about it then.

Wish I could help more, but I'm not in a position right now to go to the truck and scroll through the menu. I do recall having to look for it though.

Edit: Is this the screen you have already tried?

I can't recall exactly how to get to it, but it is under the maintenance heading. Then there should be a screen for oil filter and fuel filter.

I just replaced my fuel filters today.

Menu-settings-vehicle-maintenance-fuel filter and coolant check are on the same page in my truck. Oil life reset has its own heading.

Yes, exactly, but the screen with coolant is just that. No fuel filter

Ok, at dealership now for oil change and the SA said that the fuel filter reset will not show up Unless the truck thinks it's time for new ones, or the fuel system gets plugged.

On separate subject; I asked about them installing the "ghost screen" with DPF soot %. They said no problem, $105 I'll probably do it, but sheesh, it only takes a minute or two. Guess I shoulda went back and tried to get the tech to just do it.

The tech at my dealer did it for $20 cash during his lunch hour. I always like to suggest people go and be friendly with the diesel tech wherever they go, it's nice for both parties. I know he cares, he knows I care.

My dealer did it for nothing. However, the hour was spent trying to find the 'stumble' mine has.

On a 2015, along with the DPF screen you might want them to flash the PCM to the newest spec (changes the regen cycle). Since they are going to charge you $105 anyway .

I have a 2015 F350.
Just curious what have they changed on the regen cycle?
Is it worth getting done?
Do they charge you to update the PCM to the latest software?
Thanks in advance!
