The distributor with coil was made to be self contained... no other ignition box or coil needed.
Or you can run a simple distributor without coil and your Jacobs box + coil per Jacobs instructions.
Ignition seems to work and hold up best when matched up... either stock or recommended matched aftermarket components. Mix and match would be risky I think.
Agree with the above....why would you want to add another electronic ignition? The HEI alone can produce up to 40K VDC. I don't think you'll be gaining anything.
Are you having problems with your current set up?
By the way, the HEI needs a constant 12 VDC to run properly...if you stabbed it in without changing out the ballast resistor wire you'd have problems with only ~ 8 VDC running to it.
Tat fuel filter looks to be all varnished up....time to change it?
