bright lights problem
2) Put a voltmeter across the pins to test whether power is reaching the socket. Again, compare with the working one to make sure you are testing the correct pins.
3) Manually trace the wires. The high beam positive line may have been cut.
1st thing I would do is to swap the bulbs just to make sure that the issue remains on the same side, this will also rule out the remote possibility of the new bulb being bad, stranger things have happened…. Then swap the bulbs back, so you know that you have a good working bulb on the side that has the issue.
Then you are down to the point of chasing wires and inspecting pins. If you don’t have one invest in a test light, guessing $10 Parts store.
Test both headlight connectors with the test light or volt meter on both low and high so you can either see that both sides are working the same or not, If not working the same, start moving back from there. If both sides are testing the same it’s a simple connection issue at the bulb I would think…. Check for any corrosion on the pins at the bulb connector, also check that the pins in the connector are connecting tightly with the bulb.
Sounds to me like something simple, but I have been wrong on more than one occasion in my life according to my wife…. In fact she told me that just this morning....
This is where I would start, let us know how it works out.
Hope I helped….
Steve
