So first post here; mainly do to the search feature always being able to answer any questions I have but this one has left me stumped.
Have an 05 Limited Excursion v10 where the front blower motor will cut out randomly. The rear blower will work without issue even when the front is not working. When the front is working (98% of the time) all speeds seem to work and can adjust to all heating/cooling positions. After searching the forum I thought the likely culprit was the blower motor; which I replaced this pass weekend but coming home from work it cut off again, clearly the issue is not resolved. I know the ford resistor are known to be prone to issues but symptoms do not seem to point that direction. Also it is does not happen with any consistenency, happens at idle just as frequently as the expressway.
Would love some ideas on what else to check and how to check before I have to give in and take to dealership. Appreciate the help!
My Ex was doing the same thing. I replaced the AC blower motor with a new one from NAPA auto parts and it works like a champ now. The swap out was fairly simple. There is a few youtube videos that explain how to do it.

Since you've already replaced the blower motor itself, I would just go ahead and replace the resister. It is not expensive and easy to do yourself. If that does not cure your problem, then I would try dealer..... but I would do all I could on my own before paying dealer prices just to "look" at it for you.
