Stock CD Player

I have an 02 F250 superduty 4x4 with the stock single CD player that will play fine for about 1 CD and then seems to get hot and quits playing. I have this same player in my 01 Explorer Sport and it is doing the same thing. Could it be from the sun hitting the dash? It also does it when the air cond. is on in the vehicles so I don't think it is related to inside vehicle temp. Anyone else experienced similar problems. Any fix?

I can't find the link right now, but I think I remember reading in another thread that FMC had problems with these radios. The culprit was a ground wire if I remember correctly. I think some people were having to run a separate ground from the chassis of the radio to a ground spot to help dissipate some of the power.

Maybe someone else will know the details - I might be thinking of something different...

one huy was telling me about what can happend to radios and one was condensation. If your air conditioner vents are next to it and the stereo heats up then it cn cause condensation on the head unit. Maybe its like temporarliy shorting it?
