Codes and alarms everywhere!!!!
I shut it down after pulling in, from what i knew evrything was fine. 20 minutes later i started it codes and lights went off like the four of july. A wrench light, oil light, temp light and maybe even an obama light. The gauges did not even move. I shut it down, let it cool then after starting it only the CEL came on. WTHeck!!! bought two new trucks in 2015 and both had front end alignments off. The f450 doors fill up with water when it rains. One day after a rain I put my seat belt on and the seat belt was soaking wet. The cab corner where the seat belt spools up was full of water. The tie rods and ball joints started making sounds after 20k miles so i checked them to find they didn't have ANY grease in them!!!! The def fill tube broke off driving through a small dip in the road (i heard it pop). WTHeck!!!!! my first new truck....glad i stihl have my 96 7.3.
The squeaky hinge gets the oil, the annoying piece of junk gets put in the back and forgotten...
7/20, while pulling into a parking spot at work, got the bells & multiple alarms (advance track, oil, coolant, etc), along with a check engine light. Shut off truck, restarted & all alarms/messages were gone & check engine light was off.
7/23, worked an overnight shift & everything was fine with truck when I got off work...went home, changed clothes, grabbed my cameras & my daughter & headed off to our local NASCAR short track. Started the truck & the bells/multiple messages/CEL was back. Stopped at the local O'Reiley's & had them put it on a scanner. showed a 2610, 2615 or some garbage code having to do with the traction system. about 7 or 8 miles from the track, the CEL turned off. got our pit passes, started the truck & no warnings or anything. As we were driving into the pits, I got all the multiple messages as before, with the addition of all my guages showing dashes. Parked, shut it off & attempted to restart, but absolutely nothing.
one of the local racers, who is a service tech suggested it may have been an alternator issue, with the voltages in teh batteries dropping so low in voltage that the computers got "confused" & began throwing multiple codes. attempted to connect a battery charger, but both batteries were full. decided to disconnect battery terms & HOPE that enough of the codes/information would clear & that I"d at least be able to get my truck home.
Once the terminals were connected, truck started fine, even though the CEL remained on.
tooK monday 7/24 off & took the truck to the dealer & got my rental.
finally contacted by dealer on friday, 7/29 & picked up my truck this morning, 7/30.
below is a direct quote as to the cause(s) of the problem..if these areas haven't already been checked, might be a good place for the clueless mechanics to start:
"IDS hook-up. KOEO and KOER tests. Many, many network codes and lack of data codes. Pinpoint tests. Access Kick panels and under dash. Wiggle tested wiring while running network tests and monitor PIDS. isolated the concern down to C210 splice S102 or S377. Accessed and replaced both splices and over C210. Reassembled and retested. Passing at this time."
hopefully, this will be the end of the problems, though the final 3 words of the report aren't that encouraging to a customer
hope this helps, if even just a little

I copied this just as it appears on the RO.
The tech stopped by as I was getting my keys and corrected the service writers explanation (he said there was a TSB, I asked him for the number)
the tech said it wasn't a TSB but a SSM.
I'm not sure what was done and I don't know what SSM stands for.
It was pretty spooky when almost everything on the display was wacko, for lack of a more technical term.
