56 Panel Lowering Questions

We started this project 10 years ago. We've moved since then and once Minty was back on the road we discovered she doesn't fit in the garage in our new place; she's 4" too high. I'm looking at the kits that drop her 5". I thought about adding sway bars as well.

How will this change the ride? Handling? Clearance problems?

Also, while I'm at it, any suggestions for good shocks.

My panel appeared to be a little too high for my garage as well. The opening is 83 inches tall, but I wasn't able to use that full height because of the adjustment of the door. With a little trial and error adjustment, however, I was able to get the door to fully retract. With the door fully retracted, my panel just fits. The magic number for door height, at least for a stock 52', is 83 inches. Congratulations on your truck! It's a beauty.
