I know that the heads are identical, but can you swap sides? I'm really not sure which is which since I did the valves. I have two bolts sticking out of one and that's what I was using to separate I.D. them but I think I may have taken them out and possibly put them in the wrong one.
I would have put this in my build thread but I wanted as many eyes on this ? as possible. My build isn't exactly sexy and it is kind of boring compared to the others in this forum.

If they're identical then you can swap them. Is there some other sense in which you mean "swap sides?" Not trying to be a smart alec, just trying to understand your question.
Maybe this is a better way to explain it. The heads are not side specific. Either head will work on either side of the engine. There is no left or right cylinder head.
They are not side specific, however, make sure when you put the rocker assembly back on that the long rocker bolt goes in the hole with the oil hole next to the bolt hole.

Thanks Kshb.
Thanks guys. I was worried that since it is a engine with about 40,000 miles on it I might need to keep the heads on the original sides.
I think that the gaskets need to be installed so that the water jackets do not get blocked off. If I remember correct there have been threads here regarding this and overheating problems
