Weather stripping

I have a 72 highboy that I'm restoring and I ordered weather stripping from npd. I told the salesmen I was worried that the rubber was to hard and he said he had another brand the he had no complaints. Well I glued them in last night now the doors won't close all the way. Can anyone me tell if they had the same problem and where can I get better ones.

You will have to adjust the doors anyway. I put in new rubber on my 72 in the 80's with OEM rubber, and had to adjust them.

I'd been through that myself 3 times even after adjusting the doors. I put in new OEM back in 78 order a the ford dealer, Those worked great for yrs but about 17 yrs started showing some signs of needing replacing.

I can't remember who I order from the last few times one off ebay was the last ones and for 3 yrs had to slam the door to latch.

Then saw a guy on here the had a 71 4wd blue/white who had gone through the same as most all of us.
He then posted that got a pair of gret door seals that closed perfectly normally.

He stated he found them on Summit soffseal or go to soffseal.com was the name brand were like $31 bucks then add S&H total $40 you won't be disappointed.

I use a sheet of printer paper as a gage for adjusting the fitment, open door & close it on the paper and pull to feel it to loose or tight all around the door sealing areas.

I used door seals from Dennis Carpenter, and had good results. My passenger door closes very easily, and the drivers door requires only firm pressure when closing. The rubber is very soft and pliable. No adjustments necessary.

Try some spray liquid silicone lubricant. It's good to spray your door seals about twice a year to keep them soft and pliable.
