Motor mounts on my 1989 e350 Rv with 460 engine getting tired, engine shifts a bit. Question, how is the best way to lift the engine the few inches needed to change them? Manual I looked at suggested lifting on the oil pan, but I suspect that might be more appropriate for small blocks rather than this heavy beast big block. Anyone been down this road?
Thanks
Jeff
Yup, you can still lift it by the oil pan. I'd put a block of wood between the jack and the pan to avoid damage, but it should be fine.

Big block? Small block? Isn't that GM terminology?
Tom:
You are right, have more experience with Gm,s than Fords ( same GM Dustbuster van in driveway for over 20 years). Thanks for the replies, while oil pan certainly looks robust, I understand weight of this engine, dressed, is approaching 1000 pounds. Was considering using the harmonic damper to raise engine. If something went sideways, balancer a lot easier to repair than oil pan, but will take a look. Thanks for the replies.
