When shifting from 1st to 2nd, it tachs out close to 4K RPM's before it shifts. Then, it takes forever to complete the shift. It is also haning in thrid before going into OD but does that less often.
334 and 337 EVP/EGR is/was high- I had a vacuum leak on a hose that was disconnected when I did the EVP sensor. Thinkn this is fixed. It was in the memory code section.
556 Fuel Pump Realy primary circuit failure- how do I find and fix this?
at the top of the big broncos page is a link to online mauals.if the trans is not in park it may not be in drive either.the neutral switch is on the trans. i think check with a visual to make sure.it tells you how to adjust it. if the trans. is not getting enough pressure do to the filter change it won't shift correct either.did it do this before the fluid and filter?check the manuals they can help.
I hope you have a Haynes manual. It has a nice section on transmissions. The transmission is really effected by general engine malfunctions. Make sure the fluid level is correct, not high or low. Haynes says, "If the engine is malfunctioning, do not proceed with transmission checks until the problems are repaired and runs normally." Check for vacuum leaks and other general engine problems. You may not even have a tranmission problem once you fix things.
