Hello my c6 was leaking so I pulled it out put in a new front seal, oil pan gasket and band adjustment nut. Now with it sitting in the truck not even started yet the dam thing is leaking. It seems to be the front seal again. This is the second seal, torque converter seem ok. Any ideas? I did the rear seal last year so that is good.
You did clean up any dirt from the area around the seal and lube the lip of the seal, didn't you?
You bet I did. I even put grease on the torque con nose. oiled the seal and put RTV on the outside of the seal where it mates to the metal. So I can not imagine the seal leaking again.
Check the torque converter shaft for a groove. If it has a noticeable groove it is wear from years of use. Also feel for any play when the torque converter is installed with the tranny out. That front bushing might be worn.

Thanks Pat.
C6 has a front pump seal (C2AZ-7A248-A), large front pump O-ring (C6AZ-7A248-B) and a front pump gasket (C6AZ-7A136-A).
All should be replaced at the same time.
Pic: Parts shown as 7A136, 7A248 (seal) & 7A248 (O-ring).
I just went through all this. Replaced all three and no more leaks.
To do this is there any thing special needed as to tools or experience. I don't want to open this up and have a bunch of pieces come out at me. Never opened up a tranny before. Not looking forward to pulling the 400 out again.....Dam.....oh well.

I don't remember any surprises popping out when you remove the front pump. I've never done it before but I've heard sometimes those things are stuck on there pretty good. You might check out a You Tube video.

Stand it up, output down, and DO NOT allow it to lean over AT ALL. If it does the drums inside will move and you do not want this to happen. Don't ask me how I know.
It helps to have a tool to remove the pump cover, but it can be done with vice grips. Nothing will fly out, as long as you keep it vertical.
As long as you keep your activity confined to the pump cover, seal, O-ring and gasket, you should be able to carefully drop everything back into place without great difficulty.
One guy here stood his up in a 5 gallon bucket. I hung mine from an engine lift. Be careful to keep the output shaft from touching the floor and bearing weight as this will also unseat the drums. Not good.
Well I ended up getting it rebuilt. So far no leaks. Better not for $900. I really appreciate all the advice you guys gave. I just thought I didn't want the aggravation of pulling out again so spent the extra money and know its good to go now. The only issue I am having is the passing gear linkage don't line up now for some reason. Would anyone have a pic of the linkage on the side of a C6 they could share?
You guys are the best ....THANKS.
You mentioned putting grease on the front seal. I don't know if that was the cause for the new seal to leak but, it's best to always prelube the rubber portion of seals with whatever type of fluid the seal will be coming in contact with.
I did that the first time as I have done for years. Using gear oil on rear end seal and tranny oil on tranny seals. This time I thought grease might help. Now its rebuilt as I have never driven the tranny other than in the yard so thought I might as well get it done right. I got tired of pulling it out...haha. Now the passing gear linkage seams wrong. Or the rebuilder put the wrong passing gear linkage piece on the side of the tranny. Always something :-)
