I have a 2008 F250 5.4L. I was looking into getting a programmer and I've heard that on a gas truck it doesn't do much and I've also heard that it does. Does anyone know what a good one would be? Or if it does make a difference at all.
I'll second 5 star you won't notice a huge power increase but you will notice a huge bump in throttle response though along with a better transmission shift stagey. The factory really numbs the throttle response in their drive by wire programming.

I put the 5 Star tuner in my 2006 F350 5.4l. I use it mainly for plowing. Have a 2011 F350 6.2l as my daily driver. After I experienced the 6.2l, the 5.4l felt like a wind up toy, so I needed to do something. The tuner is a huge improvement - very quick throttle response, very "clean and crisp" feeling when driving now.

hey, is it worth getting the sct livewire tunner vs the x4 ??
That's what I wish I would have gotten when I got mine instead of the x3 and a scangauge they didn't have the x4 when I got mine and I got a good deal on the x3 I think I ended up with both for less than the price of a new x3 and they were both new. If you want to look at digital gauges then I'd go livewire. Btw you won't notice the huge increase in throttle response the op will as you don't have the drive by wire throttle control.
