Tuner advantage 2003 F250 5.4

I have a 2003 F250 SC 4X4 with a 5.4 auto and 3.73 gears. I put 305 70 16 tires on it, which hurt the power even more. I live in WV and see alot of hills on the interstate. The new tires has it easily downshifting on most inclines. Also, when it downshifts at 70mph, it goes to 3rd which doesnt put it in any kind of real powerband. I find myself pulling it manually down into 2nd alot of times to get it to go. It is too eager to downshift out of OD. My question is about the Superchips 1715 tuner. Will it allow less downshifting tendencies? I think it will hold OD on most of the hills if the computer would allow it. Sometimes, half throttle is all it takes for downshifting. This is my biggest gripe. I would certainly appreciate more power, but that would be a plus for me. Any input?

Yes, it will help power 8-10% which will result in less shift (due to less throttle). You can also custom set the shift points using the options settings in the tuner.
