I have a 1986 ford bronco with a engine I believe has been replaced. I removed the starter and looked at the engine number and it is D9OE-6015-E. That decodes as a 1979 ford Fairlane(all) and Torino 1967-1976. The Fairline's were only produced till 70 and Torino was only produced till 76. I can't find any websites that I can enter this engine and bring up all of the parts. What am I missing?
The casting numbers on these ford engine parts only tell you what division that part was manufactured for, it does not tell you what division eventually used that part to build an engine or what vehicle it was installed in.
As Conanski said, the casting numbers are in no way indicative of what that block was used in from the factory. If this is a 351W block, it could be the original block to that truck. If it's a 302 block, then it's not the original block. The E0AE block replaced that in 1980. And the E0AE was replaced in 1985-86 by the roller blocks.
