Power Window Mystery...

Can't figure this one out. My power window on the drivers side quit working. I was all set to take the door apart to investigate two days later and found that the window was again working just fine. This has happened three times now. When the window is inoperative I can hear the motor trying to activate. Any ideas what might be going on? Thanks in advance!

P.S. This window also often shudders when going up.

Felts may be shot, cheap and easy to replace.

Very common issue.......

a previous post:

The plastic spacers in the lift motor gear assembly are known to wear then cause this issue. Some info in this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/98...or-repair.html

I had a brand new motor/regulator installed at a body shop this past winter. I'll crack it open and have a look see.

One of mine had worn plastic spacers and the other was gunked up with old dirty grease.
Not hard to fix.
