Can anyone tell me why my 99 superduty chimes 5 sets of 5 at startup and sometimes after driving a distance or about half hour then coming to a stop, always 5 sets of 5, takes little over a minute to get through, getting a little anointing
Thanks in advance
You may want to also ask this in the proper year forum. Of course the first thing to do is find out what that certain sequence means, and then you can try to fix it. I am not sure if it means a door is ajar, something is wrong with the key, or something else.
P.S. I will post up there in the superduty forum and see if anyone knows what those chimes mean.
The 5 x 5 beep is the backup alarm for the airbag system. This is in the owner's manual.
Replace the airbag warning lite in the cluster and the beeping will go away. Now, with a primary warning indicator that works, you can count the flashes to get a two-digit lamp Fault Code (LFC) that will guide you towards diagnosing the fault in the airbag system.
