How do you replace the airbag light?
Hi Everyone,
I just picked up a F150 XL supercab 5.4L 4X4 for a song at auction. It's in awesome shape, except for the irritating beeping from the dash, a slow leak in one tire and hole in the muffler.
From past posts, I've been able ID the beeping as a warning that the airbag light is out, and I've confirmed the light is actually out. My question is, how do you replace it? Naturally, there is no owner's manual in the car, so I can't even tell where on the dash it is? Has anyone done this before? Do you remember any tricks to it?
Thanks in advance!

Download a manual from www.fleet.ford.com under the Maintenance tab.
The SRS warning light is in your instrument cluster. Once you have the manual, it will be obvious where it is at. Once you replace the bulb, you will be able to "read" the two-digit LFC (Lamp Fault Code) to see what it's complaining about.
One of the more common ones is the 27 code that is caused when the passenger side airbag is switched off but its indicator lamp is also burned out. If it's switched off, turn it back on unless there is a valid reason to diasable it and the beeping should go away until you get the SRS lamp replaced.
Other common faults are for the clockspring and for crash sensors.

Sorry, I left off the year - it's a 2001.
The ford fleet website didn't have the manual, but I managed to find the service department manuals for sale on eBay on a CD. They come complete with exploded engineering diagrams. If I can't work it out from those, I should give up and take it to a dealer - I deserve to be screwed!
Thanks again
