starter problem

here are several photos of the starter parts.
I found that it I rotate the pinion gear toward the starter, as it reaches the starter it begins to skip.......I assume that it means time to replace the entire assembly.
Also there is a bushing spacer that is between the starter and the pinion, but I can't find that part listed anywhere.

thanks to all
that responded to my starter issue.
After a real close inspection, I realized that 'spacer' at the end of the shaft that the pinion gear rides on at inner most end was threaded. So clean a break that it took a magnifying glass to spot the last vestiges of the thread.
Found new/old part from Bendix, still in the original box.
