68 n600

I found a 69 N600 for sale on Craigslist with the Napco conversion. The cab is pretty much toast but there are parts that I plan to save. It has the 361 engine in it.

elpound, great trucks. I've been searching for body parts for my Dad's 68 N-600 and found this site so I had to join. What parts do you plan to keep from the cab of the second one you bought? Not sure what you'd call them but would you sell the hood and two side fender doors that open up? Dads 68 got backed into with another truck combining corn 2 years ago and I'm looking for the parts to fix it as I'm the one that backed into it. Or would you be interested in buying another N-600 if Dad would sell his as you'd have the parts to make her new again. It has a 16ft box and hoist but we might take it off and put it on another truck. PM if your interested. I'll take some pictures next time we've got her out of the barn and post them. Might be awhile till the weather warms up enough that we'll bring her out.

I haven't really decided what body parts I'm going to keep yet. My flatbed truck has a lot of small dents here and there. The new truck has places of rust through on most of the parts of the truck that don't show in the picture. I have the truck in Washington State at the moment. I do know of some other N series trucks in North Dakota. One is on a farm outside Valley City. A buddy of mine thought maybe his Brothers would sell it. It's pretty nice though.

Thanks for the reply. Is that a picture of the truck in Valley City? I see its a n-700. I wonder if the body parts are the same as the 600. Looks very similar. Also looks to nice to part out. If possible could you get me the owners name and phone number? I'm a couple hours north of Valley City but it might be worth while to go take a look at it.
Thanks again

The N series cab is almost the same as 1961/66 F100/1100 & 1967/69 F800/1000. The N series door shells are different, as they are cut out at the front for clearance.
ALL the glass interchanges, as do the weatherstrips, and the doors internal parts. The in-cab fuel tank and fuel sending unit is also the same, excepting some diesels.
The repro parts sellers only list parts for F100/350's, ignoring 500 and larger series trucks. But since you now know that the parts are the same...

Wow, you have good luck finding those N-Series trucks: a N500, N600 & N700...
I think you should keep your flatbed truck as it is, except for maybe shortening the bed/chassis a little, unless you need the length for your own work & hauling purposes.
The Napco conversion truck seems to appear restorable? As you mentioned there may be hidden rust issues, however, there must be 'value' in having a documented Napco converted truck Cab/chassis??? I'd strongly consider restoring it back to life.
The N700 grain truck appears to be another gem. Did that truck sell?

The bed on the 68 is 19 feet long. I haven't done much of anything to it lately. l have been working on other projects around the place when I'm home. The hydroboost started acting up last time I used it. I ordered a new on as well as a master cylinder.
I don't know if the N700 sold or not. It's on my buddies brother's farm. I have seen a couple for sale in Washington state the last few months. not sure how to share them since they were on Facebook.
