Hi everyone! If anyone in this forum has an 80- 86 f150, you'll know me from there! For the rest, I'm Brad and I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all and your trucks! Now to business, I just bought a 1996 f- 150 in line 6cyl with a manual trans to go with my older girl for 600$ the only problem is a strange rough idle that only comes up in 1) when I drive around, warm it up, shut it off and restart it and 2) stop and go traffic. I can drive it 40 miles, come to a stop and it'll idle fine, but when I drive through a city and get multiple stop lights in a row I can watch the rpms slowly drop until it begins to sputter and die.. when this happens I can also smell that it is running rich. I also think it is running Rich because if I give it gas it'll stall out and i have to wait about 20 minutes until itll run correctly again. I tried switching out the tfi module with no luck. Sorry to write so much but i like to provide as much info as i can since you guys can't see what it is doing firsthand. Thanks for y'alls help ahead of time! I greatly appreciate it!
No not yet, the Parts store near me got rid of all their scanners so I have to take it to the one across town, I'll be doing that today. And no, there are no check engine lights, not even when it's about to die..
