Break It Down Barney Style

I've got a decent amount of mechanical aptitude and reasoning ability, but I can't seem to find a "6.0 For Dummies" type of diagram explaining the fuel system. Can somebody break it down Barney style for me?

LPOP brings oil up to the HPOP and sends HPO to the "fuel rails" or "oil rails" and in turn to the injectors through the nipple cups. This HPO is used to force the fuel into the cylinders, correct?

Where the hell does the fuel enter the injector? I've recently had to pull the injectors and will be replacing one of them when it arrives. After doing this I began trying to figure this out just out of pure curiosity. I saw no where that the fuel system actually tied into the injectors.

Have you gone thru the coffee table book for the 6.0? There is a whole chapter on the fuel injectors.

http://www.powerstrokediesel.com/docs/EF_456.pdf

There are fuel galleys drilled in the head. From the fuel filter you can follow the tubes that go down to the heads. The fuel comes in the side of the injector thru holes drilled from the galley to the injector holes. There are O-rings on either side of this area on the injector that keep the fuel from getting into the oil.

The fuel in the galley is at a low pressure from the electrical pump down on the frame rail. 50-70psi. The intensifier piston in the injector takes the oil pressure and makes the fuel inject at 7x that. At full power I've seen 4,000 psi in my injection pressure, or 28,000 psi fuel pressure!

I did not look at that site, thank you. I kind of had that idea after seeing the white and black O-rings on the injectors, but I wasn't sure. All I could find on the tech sticky post was information about how to diagnose problems.

Thank you for entertaining my curiosity.

Here's a pic of a cut away of a cylinder head pulled off the internet.
