First post, Ive been lurking around for a while and got a good bit of information. But I can't find information for Drop Axle Pivot Brackets on the forum. I have a 95 F250 w the 460 that I just purchased and have bought a 2.5in add a leaf pack from Tuff Country because the previous owner added a three inch block lift to the rear and for some reason neglected the front. So I would like to know if I would be able to skip out on new axle pivot brackets for such a small lift because they are coming in at a price more expensive than the actual springs. Thanks ahead of time.
The right way to do it is always a drop bracket. You never know how much lift you'll get with add a leaf, and add a leaf can be detrimental to ride quality.
Then comes alignment, the camber adjustments can only go so far, if you add leaves to the front and you end up outside the camber adjustment range, you'll be buying drop brackets anyway.
I'm not 100% sure but if you use that you might want to get camber shims. you might not be able to stay in spec while lifting the front. then afterwards you will need to get an alignment (which you should do after the lift settles anyways)
The drop bracket is designed to match a certain amount of spring lift to maintain proper geometry. My point was, if you add a leaf and you can't align the truck, you will end up buying a lift kit with springs that match the drop brackets.
