Front springs - lift

Front springs - lift
I own a 95 F-250 XLT Super Cab.
Someone , before I owned my truck, did some suspension work. It looks like I have 2 different springs on the front end of my truck. I also have about a 1 1/2" difference from one fender to the other. Have any of you done a spring swap before , and do any of you have any suggestions to make it go easier. I was also thinking that while I'm at it I would give it a little boost. Maybe give it a two inch lift. How much more work would I be looking at?

2 inches is getting to the point where camber bushings may not be able to get the alignment back in spec.
first thing i do with an older 250 is get rid of the IFS and put a dana 60 solid axle under the front.
otherwise you have to mess with the center drop bracket to compensate for the amount of spring lift put in the get the axle straight again.

if you have a perfectly level spot to work on the truck you can do it yourself.
back up 5-10 foot, then pull forward to settle the front end.
measure from floor to bottom of axle.
put new springs in. measure floor to bottom of axle again after backing up and pulling forward to settle the front end.
this is the amount of lift. remove the center pivot bracket, and add the amount of lift to the pivot bracket.
this can be done two ways. by buying a new dropped bracket, or by cutting yours and welding in a spacer plate to make up the difference.
the problem with the do it yourself bracket is the truck has to be perfectly level side to side and front to back....otherwise the geometry will be off and caster/camber will be off and may not be able to be set.

Hey thanks. I was thinking about the do it your self bracket. But when I started looking at springs, most of the kits come with brackets and the price changes very little. I've been looking at the Rough Country kits.
I'm also concerned about how a 2" lift would change the geometry of the front drive. I don't think it would be much of an issue. I just want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row before I get started.
It would be nice to give the axle a little more travel before it hits the bump stop.
