302 in 66

Have a question regarding putting a 302 in my 66 f100. It has the original 352 at the moment. Will the stools I have work with the 302 or do I need to change them due to the different widths of the blocks?

I read all this stuff about needing later perches and got a set. When it came time to drop in my roller 302 block it fit perfectly with the original FE perches.(wtf?) 302/t5 trans and didnt modify a thing except new holes for trans mount.

I guess I got a set to sell. But why?

All I have read on the perches is that the FE perches make your small block set 1 inch higher in the truck making your trans sit at wrong angle.

Last year I installed a 302 in my 65 Ranger. My donor vehicle was a 72 F100. I installed the mounts and the 302 dropped right in. The best part was that the transmission, linkages, 302 exhaust system and everything else installed without modification.
