My 97 F250HD is an xlt and has the captain's chairs and center console. I was recently told that someone thought that they may have only came factory in Broncos. So my question is, were theses seat factory installed or did someone swap them over from a Bronco?
I think captain chairs were optional in Supercabs. My 95 F150 SC had them. I really like them, wish my current 95 std cab had them but don't think they will fit?

yes they fit nicely in a regular cab. you just have to use the bronco or supercab mounts, drill a few holes, and put a few reinforcements under the floor pans. .

Thanks, just need to find a nice pair of RED ones. The interior is perfect in this truck, but I never cared for bench seats.
i marked the floor, and drilled the holes. then went under the truck and made a set of 6X6 1/8 thick steel plates for re enforcement i welded to the floor pans. then welded the nuts to fender washers, and welded the fender washers to the plates. the put seats in truck, and bolt them in from up top.

I would NOT say fits nicely. The contour of the floors are different SO you will either need to cut and reweled the brackets and or stack washers to make up the difference. Not a nice looking install at all.
Freightrain if you Really want to install the buckets the CORRECT way, it would be like FORD did in the 93-95 Lightnings
Use a 40/20/40 seat pan and tracks from a reg cab or crewcab 40/20/40. Then bolt the bucket seats to the 40/20/40 tracks. The console uses 3 self tapping screws to attach it to the pan(just like the factory). or you can rework HALF of the bronco/supercab trans to bolt to the 40/20/40 seat pan
Here is a example of buckets with a console mounted on the 40/20/40 seat pan in a reg cab(with reworked bronco tracks on the 40/20/40) Bolt to the truck using the 4 factory bench seat bolts and NO HOLES drilled
i used the bronco mounts, and they fit my 88 floor pans perfectly. outer bolts lined up with the bench seat bolt holes. all i had to do was drill the four inner bolt holes, then weld in my nut re enforcing plates and bolt the seats in..
that way they do not need the split seat tracks.

I will assume you used 80-91 bronco ejection brackets.
the 92+ slider brackets are different, along with the supercab 40/20/40 seat brackets will not just bolt into a reg cab/crew cab
Thanks for the info Brad. Have to find the seats first before I get to anxious about it.
I do have two fab shops at full disposal for anything I need to make. So customizing is not a problem. Lasers, rollers, shears, powdercoating, etc. It's good to have the right friends.
