Desperately searching for engine wiring harness for 1988 F350 with 460 fuel injected motor. Tried local wrecking yards and internet, please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Ian- Thank you for the help... I'm located in CA and I am being told that due to the emissions restrictions, that there are different types. Do you know if that is correct? If you are correct it would make my search possibly easier.
Actually, I may be wrong in my post. I forgot that there was a pretty major change in wiring starting with the '92 Model Year. The harness is more or less the same, but the way it connects to the cab wiring is different IIRC.
'88-'91 *should* be the same though. Can I ask what is wrong with your harness?
Of course.... I was hesitant to post my sad story... however here goes. I recently had a new motor installed and it currently has about 1800 miles on new motor... it had a slight hesitation upon acceleration from a stop. I took to have it check and was told that one or more of the injectors was not working properly. I opted to have all of the injectors changed which I had done. Upon the repair shop taking for a drive after the repairs I was told that it caught fire under the truck and the fire was due to a leak of transmission fluid onto the exhaust????. The harness was damaged by the fire. Sorry for the long explanation.
I can post pictures, however I do not have any at this time I will try to get some today and post tonight. The shop is telling me that it would be easier and more cost effective to replace the whole thing but I am quickly losing confidence in them.

Unless the trans is A) leaking badly or B) overheating & percolating fluid out the dip stick, (which is a whole different set of problems) I don't see how a fire under the truck could easily damage the injector harness.

I certainly would. Especially when they went straight to the injectors as a cause for a "slight hesitation" with nary a mention as to why/how they got there.

Not a problem. Most of the time its too little info or what's given is clear as mud.
