I have a 2011 f250 SD crew cab short bed. in some places i read my short bed as being 6.75" long. i just saw a short bed for sale on ebay for my truck model, and it says it is 6.5" long. which is the true length of my truck bed? i'm looking into a used truck cap for sale for my truck, and it says it is 6.5" long. will the cap fit? please help as i need to get it b4 winter. thank you
A 6.75 inch bed is a short bed indeed!
The actual measurement is 6 and 3/4 feet, but I believe many folk round that off to 6 and 1/2 feet. So the question is - is the topper really 6.75' and rounded to 6.5'?
If it is intended to use on a late model Ford truck, it should fit. There could potentially be a problem with the door fitting to the lip of the tailgate (built in step vs. no built in step).
Are you mixing tenths and inches? My bed on the inside at the bottom in the clear is 6.8' (I only use tenths rules at work). That comes out to a 6 feet 9 1/2 inches before the tailgate. 6.75' (in tenths) is what the literature says.
