97 7.3 keeps blowing fuse

I had posted something on here about my truck dying on the freeway with no warning at all and wouldn't start. I found out it was the #30 fuse in the fuse box under the 5std. We got it running but now I can only make it about half a mile and the fuse keeps blowing and leaving me stranded. Any suggestions?

Do you know what that fuse controls? Sounds to me like there is a short in the system.

It sounds like you might need to start tracing wires. I agree that this problem is probably due to a short somewhere in the system.

I figured I had a short somewhere. I was told to disconnect the fuel bowl heater because that can cause it to blow

The IDM is controlled by fuse #8. It has nothing to do with the fuel bowl heater (fuse #22 as mentioned).

Time to start tracing wires.

I swapped my horn relay and my idm relay and took out my fuel bowl heater and it hasn't blown a fuse since.
