Hey Everyone, this all started with Windows not working then instruments. Now throw in fuel fuel pump. I have checked and or changed all fuses and relays, BCM, checked inertia switch. Have new fuel pump, getting ready to install. Could the ignition switch block be causing all of this?
So frustrated, switch block must be ok because I have power to the fuses and relays. I guess it's time to drop the tank and replace all control switches. Does everything blow up all at once?
I've got a 97 F150 ext cab xlt 2wd. Have been fighting Windows for a few months and a couple weeks ago will not start. It cranks good, and will fire with starting fluid. Pump?
put the key in the ignition and turn to "on" not start... look at the dash and you should have the theft light flash for 3 seconds.. Key is recognized as proper and the light goes out.... at the same time the fuel pump will run for 3 seconds to build up pressure to the injectors.. then off ............. do you see light and hear pump ?
Next, there is a Schrader valve on the fuel line above the valve cover. poke it with a Phillips screw driver and see it you get a "SHOT" of fuel out under pressure. You should have about 30 psi... don't point at your face. If you have no fuel, and cant hear the pump... that narrows down the problem.
