OBDLink MX OBDWiz software

Just got mine today and linked to the vehicle. I see there is a learning curve on what to set up and monitor on my 03 6.0.
Anyone have a link I can follow, instructions or a list of PIDs to set up?

thanks ahead

You'll get opinions on this, recently some folks have been liking Forscan. I personally have used Torque Pro for years and really like it, it is $4.95 off Google Play.

Not sure what the s/w you mention in the title is, but I would avoid loading anything, even the disc, that comes with the ODBII adapter. Is your adapter an ELM 327 V1.5 Bluetooth?

If you go with Torque be sure to load the Ford specific PID set when you start setting it up....

Ok, thanks, that's what I needed to know. The adapter is called OBDLink MX. The site says its backward compatible with ELM 327. The OBDWiz free software that came with it so far seems pretty lame. I either don't know how or can't add the different data points I want with it, but I have a lot of learning to do.

where do you get the Ford PID set?

The problem I've found with the "free" software disc is they are full of viruses, rootkits and you name it. If you don't have a really good antivirus/anti-malware running and you have loaded that disk, I suggest you go get a free copy of Malwarebytes and run a full scan. The things inserted (possibly) on your machine can be hidden and just track and report all the way to melt-down hate-ware.

On the Ford PIDs: you go into Settings/Manage PIDs and you will see a Load Predefined PID Set option, the Ford stuff is under there. Start with that and a Vehicle profile for your truck and do some searches here on Torque. I don't have time at the moment to grab you some links but there are a couple really good threads on getting started...

Good luck! Others will be along to help you as well....
