2004 Navigator Door Lock Switch
I recently purchased a 2004 Navigator to replace my 1997 Ford Expy with over 344k miles. The passenger side door lock switch is not working and I have obtained a replacement, but I am unsure whether I can remove the switch without removing the door panel. I have a seen mention of prying up the panel it is mounted in (on my 1997 Expedition the panel with switches in it could be pried up and the switches removed from the back of it. I saw a youtube video where a guy talked about replacing it by using something to release the tabs on the switch from above without removing anything, however, I can't see that there is enough clearance to get much of an instrument in the crack between the ends of the switch and the panel they are mounted in.
Has anyone else had experience replacing one of these switches, and if so, can you enlighten me with the approach you used?
Thanks,
Ted
