The author of the article is hoping for a lot, in terms of equipment, features and options. Especially for an asking price of $25K or so.
But I do agree with what I think is the author's bigger point: if the Ford Ranger is going to be revived, then let's hope it isn't done in some half-baked fashion.
Yes, I did, but I apparently missed something you wish to point out. So tell me what I missed! The article looks to be a click-bait wish list for a yet-to-be released new model.

The article very well may be a real good feel good article but it pointed out that a regular cab long box will be an option as a commercial vehicle. If that's the case, apparently it will be the only in the market segment.
I do hope the article is well informed as I would buy a Ranger in a minute vs a full size truck.
I'd like a new Ranger, but at the rate that I accumulate miles since I retired, this truck will last me until I die. Hopefully, that won't be too soon, as I'm feeling pretty good.
The main thing I don't like about the "crew cab" models is the shorty bed. It makes the truck nearly useless to haul anything. An SUV would be nearly as good.

I can't disagree with that. I'm going to a smaller truck next time and I'm getting a 5x8 trailer with it for a lower loading platform.
I think the article is a lot of speculation. Much as I would like to see a 2.7L ecoboost in a Ranger, I can't see it happening. It's a nice power plant in a F150, but would need proper drivetrain to support it in a smaller truck. Who knows, maybe a Ranger Raptor.
How does the new global Ranger compare size wise to the previous generation of Rangers? If it's like the current Colorado/Canyon which are only slightly smaller than 1/2 ton it doesn't make much sense, to me. The Tacoma seems to be the only small pickup on the market now.
